African Miners is a community mining business. The gold we trade is recovered by local miners, and the health of our business is inseparable from theirs. That shapes how we buy, how we govern the company and where the value of a transaction ends up.

Supporting local mining communities

We purchase from licensed small gold miners at a competitive, agreed discount. Consistent purchasing gives miners a predictable route to market instead of depending on whoever happens to be buying that week.

Community representation

Our board includes members of the community, who assist the traditional ruler and the directors in discharging their functions. Decisions about the operation are taken with people from the area in the room.

Responsible sourcing

We source only from licensed miners and operate under registration with the Ministry of Mines in Cameroon, with CEMAC territorial exploitation certification for eco-friendly operations.

Economic opportunity

Consolidating, processing and exporting from within the region — rather than shipping raw material out at the first opportunity — keeps more of the work, and more of the value, close to where the gold is found.
